Our experiences, our memories, and our body are as ephemeral as the natural world we think we have risen above. I Dream of the Ground From Which My Bones Return is a week-long exhibition featuring organic sculptural works by Matthew Levi and photographic prints by Trieu Nguyen. In this show, organic forms are intimately explored and anthropomorphized, providing a meditative space to reflect on humanity’s relationship to the passage of time and the natural world. Matthew sharpens the form that the stone suggests, giving a human-like autonomy to the material, while Trieu draws striking comparisons between found natural objects and the human body. While these forms appear to dream of humanity, humanity dreams of their return to the ground.
